Address: Oxnards Crescent, St. James, Barbados Latitude / Longitude: 13.194000 / -59.627600
Located in Oxnards Crescent, a quiet suburban location of approximately 50 homes. The neighbourhood is on the upper tier of the west coast, separated by small gullies on either side., In effect creating a cul-de-sac with only one entrance or exit point so no worries about through traffic. 1 minute walk to public transportation. 5 minutes away from the beach by trail or car, 5 minutes away from Warrens and Holetown and 10 minutes away from Bridgetown. The home is fenced in and secure, but not out of necessity, as instances of break ins in even unsecured homes are virtually non-existent. It has punctuated coastal and valley views from the apartment that are only further enhanced when you are outside on the wonderfully appointed upstairs deck. There is also a private patio that toasts outdoor living with acacia hardwood furniture, large ceramic pots and rum casks planters and outdoor paintings. The interior is globally inspired with pieces from all the continents. It is finished to very high specifications. Italian marble, travertine and limestone tiles adorn the floors and bathroom walls. All floors and the staircase are also all meticulously trimmed with border tile. The interior itself is cozy and breezy featuring large casement windows with vented top, which allow crisp Caribbean breezes all day long. The kitchen is well appointed with corian counter tops and sink as well as restaurant quality cook and service ware. There are two bedrooms with king beds complete with full sheet set and duvet. Though cozy there is lots of available storage in the form of built in cabinets, wardrobes, vanities and bed drawers. The whole design of the space is really both entertainment and relaxation inspired with the bedrooms and bathroom on the upper level and living and kitchen on the ground floor. Special mention is to be made of the upstairs deck where you can dine and luxuriate sipping rum punches and watching yachts sailing by on the west coast. It features an outdoor bed and entertaining area that relies on the use of green recycled materials to create a rustic beachy feel. Which, admittedly, is in stark contrast to the streamlined interiors of the apartment, but chimes in perfect unison with the green tropical climes surrounding the outdoor space.
