Thirty minutes from Ronda in the village of Jimera de Libar, considered by many a hidden paradise, minutes from the railway station and close to the River Guadiaro, on a popular walking trail, the small complex of 22 houses was built in 2000.
Construction is in typical Andalucian pueblo style.
The ground floor has a 22 ft X 10 ft living room/dining room with a fireplace for wood fire with functioning chimney that draws well. Two attractive ceiling light fittings. A separate kitchen off this is accessed up three steps, and is approximately 8 ft X10 ft, with tiled walls to the ceiling, fully fitted with oak cabinets, cultured quartz countertops, and deep stainless-steel sink, a commercial-grade five-burner gas cooktop with electric hood, oven, a fridge-freezer, and a washer/dryer (American style, vented to the outside). The counters are a full meter tall, so the kitchen suits a tall person.
The outside space comprises the small walled patio, roughly 10 ft X 10ft. The kitchen window looks onto the patio and on to the walnut orchard across the path. There is a communal garden in front, regularly tended.
Upstairs, the front bedroom is approximately 10 ft X 13ft, with french doors onto a tiny Juliet balcony. Here, you have a view of the mountains. The rear bedroom is smaller, roughly 10 ft X 10 ft, with a window looking onto the walnut orchard next door. Both bedrooms have ceiling light fixtures.
The one bathroom has bath with shower over,
basin, WC, and bidet, light fixture, glass shelf. It’s tiled floor to ceiling, white with a patterned band at dado height. There is no window, but there is a vent in the ceiling.
There is plenty of parking, effectively off-street, although not belonging directly to the houses.
Community (homeowners association) charge is just 120€ per annum.

Neighborhood

The village of Jimera de Libar has around 400 inhabitants, yet it has a pharmacy, primary school, library and internet facility, and even a newly installed municipal gym with very reasonable charges.
The village is 90 mins drive from Marbella. Beaches at Sabinillas and Manilva are not quite as far - approx 75-80 minutes.
A small shop is 4 minutes walk from the house, and even closer there is a good restaurant (Quercus) that serves full meals. (See Quercus on many well-known tourist websites eg Tripadvisor.) There is also the cafe-bar Allioli for coffee, drinks, tapas, and pub food, and once-weekly live music, also just minutes on foot from the house.
One kilometre away is the gorgeous new municipal swimming pool, open in summer only, with a very low admission charge.
There are lots of diverse fairs, events and even excursions organised by the local village council. Popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
