Spoleto is a peaceful hill town in the Italian Umbria Region with interesting sights, beautiful architecture, and an amazing historic culture. Spoleto maintains a medieval appearance, and Spoleto's Roman ruins include a Roman theatre, located near the Piazza della Liberta. There are also two Roman arches visible (the Arco Romano and the Arco di Druso) and a Casa Romana (Roman house) with attractive mosaics.
The main city event is the music festival of two worlds, mid-June and mid-July, held over a three-week period. This is Italy's leading arts festival, a feast of music, theatre, and dance. It features concerts, operas, and ballets, and also brings film screenings, modern art shows, and local craft displays.
The magnificent countryside and the unique artistic heritage combine to provide perfect conditions for relax. Trekking, horse-back riding and nature holidays, along with artistic and cultural events which have by now become a traditional feature of the city, make it an ideal place to live.
Casa Rubbiano
(230 square metres in two floors)
The house is based in the municipality of Spoleto, 4 km (2.4 mi) far from the city center. The house was originally built in 1975 and it was completely restored in 2003 and in 2012 with top quality materials. The property is set 3000 sqm of fence garden with over 20 abundant olive trees and other fruit trees and with a wood and stone made canopy for two cars (42sqm). From the open air porch (with fireplace) you can enjoy the beautiful view over the valley. Moreover the sun terrace seems to hover over the trees, ideal for lounging in the sunshine.
The house is divided into two floors (first floor and basement) with two independent entryways. It is a perfect mix between modernity and tradition, in order to guarantee a traditional Italian look, with all comforts at the same time. The house has many handmade Italian features, including handcrafted architectural parts made with stones and travertine and also renovated doors of XVII century.
First Floor (160 square metres)
The first floor is composed of: 1 kitchen, 1 living room with fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 wash room, 1 studio, 1 terrace and 1 open air porch with fireplace.
The kitchen was made and decorated by a local Italian artisan and you can be impressed by the two handmade arches.
The living room has a stone and travertine fireplace which is dreamlike in the autumn and winter. There is also a wide glass window where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view across the valley. The living room access to the basement through a staircase.
The double room has a own bathroom and two vide windows which allow you to enjoy extensive views over the valley from your bed. The other two single rooms share another bathroom.
Both bathrooms are decorated with mosaic Bisazza and feature of handmade parts of stone. Both bathrooms have a sink, a shower, a WC and bidet.
Basement (70 square metres)
The basement is composed of an open space kitchen with fireplace, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom (shower, sink, WC and bidet). The Kitchen access to a wide sun terrace, ideal for lounging in the sunshine.
Land
3,000 m2 of fenced garden with olive and fruit trees.

Rubbiano is connected to mains water, which is metered, and mains electricity. There is one gas tank of 1,600 litres. This is filled twice a year by tanker. Main cities like Assisi, Rome and Florence are close enough for day trip.
