Nowadays, it is a municipality with a strong increase in service sector activities, but which conserves all its charm. It has a very important cultural activity around its numerous museums (Archaeological, Orchard Museum, Easter and EcoMuseum), and theatre, home of the National Competition of Lullabies and Carols, one of the longest running and most important in the country. At the same time, a great deal of work has been done to rehabilitate the Barrio de las Cuevas, which is now a habitat for craftsmen. The existence of several veteran residential urbanisations has given rise to important population groups from other European countries, the majority of whom are English and German. Rojales has the La Marquesa golf course, one of the oldest in the province.It has 15,978 inhabitants, most of whom live in Cuidad Quesada. Rojales is the second Spanish municipality with the highest percentage of foreigners, who make up 71,75 % of the registered population. As a consequence English is the most spoken language in the municipality.
