The district of Castello, the largest and among the oldest in Venice, is located at the eastern end of the city. Always one of the most populated neighborhoods in the city, it has preserved the traditional "Venetian lifestyle" intact. Among the numerous monuments and works of art, we cannot fail to mention the Arsenal, for centuries the cradle of the power of the Serenissima, the Basilica of Saints John and Paul, one of the most beloved by Venetians, of St. Francis in Vigna, of St. Mary Formosa.
