A 3-minute walk takes you to the U4 subway station Braunschweiggasse and soon into Vienna’s city center. Its connection to the Austrian Imperial House distinguishes the 13th district in particular. You can find two of the most famous sights in Vienna here: the Schönbrunn Palace, with its impressive Palace Garden, and the Schönbrunn Zoo. Our beloved Schönbrunn Zoo was awarded Europe’s Leading Zoological Garden five times and is absolutely worth a visit for young and old. The 13th district encloses vast green areas and also parts of the Wienerwald (the Vienna Woods) with the Lainzer Zoo – the former hunting grounds of the Habsburger, which are now a spacious nature resort with various animals and plants. In this area, you can also find the Hermes Villa – the famous Austrian Empress Elisabeth (Sissi)’s palace.
