Spasovo is a village in northeastern Bulgaria, part of General Toshevo Municipality, Dobrich. It is 28 km
east of the General Toshevo Municipal Center, 50 km northeast of the Dobrich district,
21 km from the seashore and Durankulak and 7 km south of the border with Romania.
The population is about 980 inhabitants. The climate is temperate continental and is characterized by hot summer, sunny autumn, cold winter with heavy snow and fresh spring. The relief is flat. Altitude - 150 m.
The village has a school, a kindergarten, a community center with a rich library, an Orthodox church, a town hall, food and household goods stores, a coffee shop, a children\'s playground, a small park, a post office, a doctor\'s office. The village is water-supplied and electrified, the roads are in good condition. Regular public transport connects Spasovo with the General Toshevo municipal center and surrounding villages. The village is quiet and the area is ecologically clean, away from industrial production.
perspectives for developmentAt present, an investment project \"Spasovo Village Wind Farm\" is being developedrelated to the construction and operation of a wind farm with the main purpose of producing electricity from 60 wind turbines with a capacity of about 150-180 megawatts. The project will be finalized in 2011, with the largest investment on the territory of the municipality.
Local people are mainly engaged in agriculture. The region has favorable conditions for the development of sheep and bee-keeping. Wheat, corn, rape and sunflower are grown.
