In the 60s, 70s and 80s it was the center of leisure in the Mallorcan capital, but from the 90s this area experienced a significant decline. Gomila had nightclubs, internationally known discos such as Tito's, Barbarela or Zhivago. Of these three, only the first one is still open.
The life of the neighborhood still affects the Bellver Forest, the green lung of the city.
