The silent brightness of the Campo di San Silvestro echoes in the 16th-century palazzo we are about to enter. We pass through the shared entrance directly from the Campo and climb the winding apartment staircase to reach the second floor. We open the front door and find ourselves in a corridor with original Venetian seminato flooring. We turn right into the dining area with a fully equipped kitchen featuring appliances, including a dishwasher and a washing machine, and a sturdy dining table. The sofa, situated against the wall opposite the kitchen, can be converted into a bed if needed. The wooden beams on the ceiling run throughout the entire apartment. The fireplace, like all fireplaces in Venice, cannot be used, yet it serves as a reminder of the building's ancient character. Next to the fireplace wall is the bathroom with a shower, complete with a window and recently renovated. We return to the corridor and turn left towards the master bedroom, where two windows offer a privileged view of the field below and the church. The spacious wardrobe and the furniture arrangement with the bunk bed provide the needed space for comfortable living. We walk back through the small corridor, from which we enter the study/guest room: a door invites us to step outside to enjoy the main viewpoint of the apartment. From the large private terrace, we can see both the church and enjoy the tranquility of the adjacent private garden, which is not ours, but from which we can inhale the scent of blooming magnolia.
